Basic Documents Required
Most college admissions require passport size photographs, Aadhaar card or government ID proof, 10th marksheet and 12th marksheet.
For postgraduate courses, graduation marksheets, degree/provisional certificate and migration certificate may also be required.
Students should keep both original documents and photocopies ready for verification.
Course-Specific Documents
Professional courses may ask for entrance/admission records, eligibility proof, teaching qualification documents, work records or practical requirement documents depending on the course.
Science and technical courses may require proof of relevant subjects in previous qualification.
Always check course-wise rules because the same college may have different requirements for different programmes.
Category, Gap and Migration Documents
Reserved category students may need a valid category certificate as per applicable rules.
Students changing board, university or state may need migration or equivalence documents.
If there is a gap in studies, some institutions may ask for a gap year affidavit or explanation.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Do not submit blurred scanned copies, mismatched names, wrong mobile number or incomplete academic details.
Make sure the spelling of your name and parent name is consistent across documents.
If any document is missing, ask the admission team before submission instead of assuming it is not required.
